Since I have about 2 weeks before school starts, I've been doing a few things to keep myself occupied while I impatiently wait for things to start.

So I cleaned the house and did ninety four loads of laundry, and helped my parents clean their house and um......wrote a personal ad for Craig's List.

I was bored a couple of nights ago, and decided I had been dating all the wrong men. I date the same emotionally-detached macho man with intimacy issues and a snarly attitude when it comes to money......so I needed to branch out, and for serious.

So I guess that means you'll be getting more dating stories along with the roller derby insights and the small amount of knitting I'm actually doing :)

Um....so, I've taken the initiative to take a step in a different direction in my life.

I don't want to be an admin anymore. I've done that for going on 8 years (reception and administrative assistant work) and I've had it. I don't want to be that person anymore. The subservient good girl who obeys every order and never complains, but goes home and screams at the shower and takes her aggression out on her knitting or her derby girls or her friends, or what have you.

I want to be a different person. Who helps people, rather than does things for them that they could have done themselves. I don't like enabling lazy people to be more lazy.

Have a coffee break when you're done with your own work. Don't pass it off to me and then go take your break for hours while I break my back and do your work and you take all the credit and I get reamed because I'm not getting shit done.

But I digress.

I have enrolled in school. I start March 10th.

I also have my tryout for the derby team March 10th.

I do believe my new life has started.

bad things come in 3s?

I have been chatting with a friend of mine lately.....she thinks she is psychic. She says my bad things usually come in 4s, because I am subconciously trying to punish myself worse than everyone else, and I need to start thinking positively.

So I'm working on that, while trying to make up for all of the stupid stuff I have done lately.

It's hard, but getting so much better. Cross your fingers, or pray or light a candle or whatever your religious ritual of choice is, because I really need all the good thoughts I can get right now.

And while you are praying/lighting/thinking positively, please put in a good word for my dear friend Vegas Shannon......she is in the ER for the 2nd time in 12 hours for some internal organ issues, and they are not quite sure what the next course of action will be.

Thank you all for reading, I can't tell you how much your comments and little quips get me through some days. It helps to know that my virtual friends are there in a very real way.

Also, I took my roller derby test last night, and will let you know if I've passed to get to the next level.....which will be tryouts.

I promise I will stop being so damned crabby soon. The derby seems to be working it out of me, like when you're hungover and you think working out will drive it out of you, but the alcohol just seeps out of your pores and you smell like a brewery and have to leave the gym for fear the smell is worse than you think?

*ahem*

So the complainy part.....and the question.......say it's February 14th. You recently lost your job, yet still STILL had not received your Christmas "bonus" (fifty bucks worth of Amazon gift certificates) so you email your now ex-boss and inquire when you'll be receiving said "bonus".

Say you receive the below email.....

"Unfortunately, you are no longer eligible for this bonus. You have to be an employee at the time of payout."

Would you...

A) fly off the handle and fire back a nasty reply before thinking it through

B) lie down and take it....after all, they *did* eliminate your position

C) quietly fume about it and ask the internets what they think

D) none of the above

duh nuh nuh nuh nuh....

Today is my birthday. Everyone forgot except for one person, and a couple of MySpace people.

It's ok though, I haven't really made a big hairy deal about my birthday in years. Probably since I was 16, and that's fine with me. This is also the first birthday since I was 18 that I am single. And that is ok too.

(the more I say it, the more I believe it. Right? Right?)

Anyway, so birthdays sucking aside, I rescued a dog from the middle of a busy road on Sunday. I put up signs and called the numbers on his tags and did all sorts of things, and got nowhere.

I was just getting used to the idea of having a dog for reals, when I got the call from his owner. Who was super worried and very very glad to see Leroy. (the dog)

And instead of a cash reward, has offered me one of leroy's puppies from the next litter he sires.

I don't think I'm going to go there again....the long-time readers will know why, and his name is Goliath. But I will think about it.

So to sum it all up, I hate birthdays (and Christmas) and Valentine's Day, and I do have a heart three sizes too small, and I sometimes do nice things like rescue dogs.
Oh, and this is only the second Valentine's Day since 1999 that I have not had "a valentine", and even MHP is already booked for that.....told me I was too late and he needs to buy chocolates for his girlfriend.

I have apparently missed something......when did 8 year olds start having girlfriends??

The roof, the roof....

It's on fire.  and I got fired.  So I'm having some issues....bear with me.

Stupid computer hackers. (And Quidditch answers)

So, not to debunk the glorified image I *KNOW* you all have of me, but sometimes i am really not that bright.

Take, for example, the reason why my last post, which I spent OVER AN HOUR ON has magically disappeared.  The reason?  Because my computer has some Trojan on it.

No, not a giant condom.  It has some thing that makes my computer fall down and go boom and then makes my MySpace, my bank account and anything I've touched in the last 4 days go to some magical place where SPAM emails run free and hackers frolic in cyberspace.

All because I was busy, and I got an IM from a coworker that said "Omigod, is this YOU?" and since I had been doing something in the public eye the weekend before, and might have been photographed doing said thing, I didn't think twice, and then my computer freaked out and I got phished or hacked or whatever.

Blech.

So anyway....I had this long witty post abotu roller derby and how I'm doing the scorekeeping and such for the Rust Riot tournament this weekend, but I also seem to have contracted "Death's Rattle" or something that makes me feel like my throat will either implode or explode with phlegm at any given moment, so I just don't have the energy to rewrite the damned entry.

SO! There you go.  I will extrapolate more at some point next week on the joys of broken ladyparts and how bruises are not so much fun *down there*, and maybe will even provide  a photographic essay on the rules and regs of roller derby, since that's pretty much all I'm doing this weekend.
