Derby and String

Mothers, and Fevers and Coughing, Oh My!

So I made it to one yarn store.  Yesterday, on my lunch.  (The store in Mukilteo is 3 blocks from my office.  Bad news. :D )  Then I came down with some odd virus which is causing me to cough from  my toenails, and the coughing is causing me to throw up.  A lot.

Add to that a fever of about 102, and Im in bad enough shape that I won't be able to make it to any more yarn stores this weekend, let alone out of my bed.  *sob*

The reason I am posting this is to put out a plea....if anyone picks up any of the patterns from the shops, would they be willing to share?  I feel like I'm missing out. 

I'll be happy to share the one I got! :)

Also, a teaser, since I promised this a couple of days ago.... yarn.  Dyed by me.

I am still here. But between working now (wow...it's tough to get back to work after 5 months of sitting on my duff!) and my derby league's very first exhibition bout this past Saturday, I've been a little remiss in posting.

That, and I totally forgot to post the pix of the yarn.  But I will.  Soon.

Until then, I leave you with one more derby picture.  AND GOOD NEWS! I get my medical insurance as of June 1st, which means I MIGHT MIGHT MIGHT be skating by the time the July 21st bout rolls around!  WOOT!!

Hi ladies and germs! Coming to you from the desk of my new job at the Cube Farm, where they do not let you use the internets. Hence the phone blog.

This job is super awesome. I'm an admin with a company in the construction field; they also do design and in-house production of their materials. It's a very small company, and the people here are very fun to work with.

Anyhoo, we (being the Jet City Rollergirls) have an exhibition bout this weekend, if you want tickets, I might be able to scrounge up some for you. Just email me on that link there on the side.

Also, Chez Derby and String has finally gotten their act together, so I will be posting some pictures of my lovely hand dyed yarns when I get home this afternoon. Make an offer, because I honestly don't know if anyone will like them.

I'm just working with Kool Aid dyeing right now, but hope to move into some acid dyes soon.

Everything must go...my hospital visit last month (more on that when I can finally own up to what I did) was uninsured, as was the ambulance ride.

Not that I'm whining. It wa my own damned fault :)
