OK - so I figured out why everything in the sidebar was getting shoved to the bottom. (Thanks to Liberty's Yarn for the suggestion!) Turns out that one of my posts had a title that was too long. I believe
this post's original title has 13 A's and 12 H's, and 8 exclamation points, and that's what caused the sizing issues. WOOHOO!! It's fixed now. :)
As for the visitation situation, I've decided to only allow 2 visits for one hour each at a place of my choosing with a chaperone of my choosing. My friends Shannon and Sarah are WILDLY protective of MHP and should do the job just fine. I have informed FM that if he misses the visits at my desired times or if they do not fit his schedule, there will be no make-ups. I don't rearrange my schedule for ANYONE but TB and MHP. FM can go...well, he can go be the Kermit of all FMs back in Japan, for all I care.
I've been remiss to talk about anything knitterly in a while, so I thought I would post some pictures. BUT before I do, here's a great picture of my boss (one of them anyway, I have 22 people I support). That's a Darth Vader mask in case the picture is too dark :)
And here's a rather disturbing thing I found in my bag of Doritos the other
day. (Random, I know, but it was so shocking when I pulled it out that I had to share.) I think it's a glob of Dorito-spice-goodness.
I need to start eating healthy food...organic stuff. This Coke-And-Dorito habit is killing me.
On to the knitting pictures! I'm posting pictures of only the stuff I'm carrying in my knitting bag...I probably have other WIPs at home languishing in their plastic bags, but I don't know where they are right now.
Here are the baby booties (pattern from 50 Baby Bootees to Knit) I'm trying to finish for my cousin's baby...they finally found out it's a girl! (She's still pregnant. Not like they had the baby 6 months ago and are just now figuring this out.) Yarn is a Llama Silk blend from Queensland Collection. Kind of hard to see, but as the foot ends, there's a set of eyelets to lace a ribbon through. I'm thinking the pretty iridescent kind - maybe in a nice lavender. I'll just have to sew up the second bootie, but at least I finished knitting it! More than I can say for the next project...
TB's Harley Socks. I now have a deadline for these bad boys, I have to have them finished before next Friday, because TB is riding his Harley with his other Harley friends over to Spokane (other end of the state) that weekend, and I want his feet to be warm.
It will probably be 104 degrees over there...who am I kidding? I want him to have nice socks that remind him of his lovely girlfriend (who will be leaving for VEGAS in ONE WEEK AND TWO DAYS!!) so he doesn't bring
home a(nother) biker chick. He has enough trouble with me. :)
Just for scale, and to see how big his feet are, I give you this. Giant mondo boy feet, my TB has.
Next we have the loverly socks I am knitting for my mom's friend. My mom's friend is a very nice lady, who used to knit me sweaters when I was really little, and knitting wasn't hardly as cool as it is now. She was a great knitter too - tried to teach my mom, and kind of fell flat...my mom is seriously unteachable.
ANYWAY - so on the Fourth of July 4 years ago, said friend of Mom (her name is Cate) woke up in the morning and couldn't move. She could lift her head, but that was pretty much it. Turns out, she has a blockage in her
spine. Normally people have teeny ones (we're talking millimeters long)that cause tingling and numbness in their fingers and toes, but this was an inch long and caused paralysis.
SO! Being the person that I am and trying to be a better person, I am making socks for her. I like these socks because they're happy socks, and I hope she likes them too. Yarn is from Lorna's Laces, pattern is here. (I'm having a bit of an issue with the heel flap, but it's only my second pair of socks. Harley socks don't count because they've got a weird heel.)

And last, but certainly not least, is the Neverending Story Shawl. Looks like it may have an end sometime soon, if I don't get bored with the friggin' pattern before binding off and sewing up. I have about a million...I mean 4 more repeats on this pattern, apparently. I'm tired.
Scribble lace is doing well, progressing nicely - it's my "CSI" project...Spike TV (FOR GUYS!!) has 2 episodes of CSI on back-to-back at night, so I watch those and knit on the scribble lace for a while. It's not at work with me today, so I couldn't take a picture. I'll try to take one tonight - if I remember my camera.
Happy Friday everyone...
